Wikis are everywhere at Wamogo!
A wiki is a website that allows for collaboration between it's members. Many teachers have links to their wikis from their websites. They offer many more options than the website alone, such as the ability to upload videos, student projects and audio clips. The collaborative nature of wikis makes them an ideal tool for group work. Wikis are a great way to get students to work together on a project without having to be in the same place. The wiki is located online, so no matter where a student is, they can access their classwork and complete their assignments. Students have usernames and passwords to gain access to the wiki. There are additional security measures on the wiki which allow for differing password protection of pages and files as necessary. Teachers have found wikis to be a great way to organize assignments and materials for their classes while helping students learn to use technology effectively and productively.

Read @ Wamogo!
Students and staff starred in READ @ Wamogo posters during Teen Read Week. Students came up with concept for their posters and Ms. Waldron created them with the help of Photoshop! The presentation was made using Windows Movie Maker.

Grade 7 Makes Their Point with Paint!
Mrs. Magyar writes: As part of our Holocaust unit students learned about Propaganda and how Hitler used it to convince the the people of Germany to take action against the Jews. We discussed what makes propaganda effective and where it can be seen in our world today. Students created their own examples of "positive propaganda" inspired by famous quotations. We used to do this with paper, scissors, and glue - what a mess! This time we used word, paint and publisher in the laptop lab and shared the work on the Smartboard. Much neater and more fun!
